MowNow Privacy Policy & Disclosures

MowNow LLC ("MowNow", "we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your personal information and privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how MowNow collects, processes, and protects your information across our iOS application, Android application, and website (https://mownowapp.com).

1. FTC Artificial Intelligence (AI) Transparency Disclosure

AI Transparency Notice: MowNow utilizes automated artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies (including Google Gemini Vision API and AI Search Grounding) to analyze equipment serial tags from camera captures and discover machinery specifications.
  • Image Processing: When you photograph or upload a mower serial data tag, the image is transmitted securely over TLS encryption to our cloud backend for optical character recognition (OCR) and structured data extraction.
  • No Permanent AI Training Retention: Serial tag photographs submitted for AI extraction are processed in ephemeral memory strictly to read equipment identifiers. We do not sell or use your personal equipment photos to train public generative AI foundation models.

2. Information We Collect

A. Device Permissions & Sensor Data

  • Camera & Photo Library Access: Used strictly when you capture photos of equipment serial plates, scan QR fleet labels, or attach profile photos to machines in your garage. Camera access never runs in the background.
  • Location (GPS) Data: Used strictly during active mowing session recording to calculate distance cut, session duration, and local turf weather conditions. GPS tracking only runs when initiated by you and stops immediately when you end the session.

B. User-Provided Account & Garage Data

  • Account Information: Email address, optional display name, and encrypted authentication credentials managed via Supabase Auth (including optional Sign in with Google).
  • Equipment & Service Records: Mower nicknames, serial numbers, engine hour meter readings, maintenance logs, and session notes stored locally on your device and synced to your cloud garage when signed in.

C. Technical & Security Telemetry

  • Basic device metadata, operating system version, IP address, and anonymized error logs used strictly to maintain service reliability, enforce API rate limits, and prevent automated abuse.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To synchronize your equipment garage, hour meter readings, and maintenance history across devices.
  • To calculate accurate engine-hour maintenance reminders for oil, filters, belts, blades, and hydraulic service.
  • To display relevant OEM part cross-references and nearby outdoor power equipment dealers.
  • To secure user accounts, prevent automated bot traffic, and enforce fair-use AI scanning quotas.

4. Third-Party Infrastructure & Affiliate Links

We rely on industry-standard, privacy-compliant infrastructure providers:

  • Supabase: Managed PostgreSQL cloud database, Row-Level Security (RLS), authentication, and encrypted storage.
  • Google Cloud / Gemini API: Ephemeral serial tag OCR and technical specification lookup.
  • Open-Meteo: Local turf weather forecasts requested without transmitting personal account identifiers.

Zero Sale of Personal Data: MowNow LLC does not sell your personal information, GPS mowing paths, or equipment records to data brokers or third-party advertising networks. When you tap an external replacement part link to Amazon or eBay, your browser opens that retailer directly; as an Amazon Associate and eBay Partner, MowNow earns from qualifying purchases under those retailers' respective privacy policies.

5. Your Rights & Permanent Account Deletion (CCPA / GDPR)

You retain full ownership and control over your personal data:

  • In-App Self-Service Deletion: Signed-in users can permanently delete their account and purge all associated cloud and local garage data immediately inside the MowNow app via Garage Dashboard → Account → Delete Account & Data (or Legal & Compliance → Privacy Policy → Delete My Account & Data).
  • Web Deletion Request: If you have already uninstalled the app, visit https://mownowapp.com/delete-account or email privacy@mownowapp.com to request complete deletion of your account and records.

6. Data Security

We enforce PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) isolating every user's records, TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, hardware-backed mobile token storage via Expo SecureStore, and server-side secret isolation via Supabase Edge Functions.
